Donation of one day’s worth of Greenway tolls expected to raise
approximately $200,000 for area charities

The Dulles Greenway will be holding its 3rd Annual Drive for Charity on May 15th. 100% of the tolls collected on the Dulles Greenway on this day will be donated to five different local charities: March of Dimes, Loudoun Chapter of the Special Olympics, Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (LAWS), Fresh Air/Full Care and Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy. In addition, proceeds from the drive also support the Dulles Greenway Citizenship Award-- a $1,000 scholarship given to 12 seniors from Loudoun County Public High Schools.

The Greenway has increased its Drive for Charity promotional campaign to reach local commuters. This year’s Drive for Charity campaign features commercials on Channel 9 and Channel 4, and radio spots with WTOP 103.2 FM and WINC 92.5 FM. NBC4 has set up online donations for those unable to travel on the Greenway and would like to make contribution. The radio spots will be voiced by Washington Redskins James Thrash.
